J. Crew for Buglife Save the Bees T-shirt

Raise awareness about the importance of bees to the ecosystem and curb the threat on agriculture disappearance. These are the objectives of J. Crew who has created a hand sketched t-shirt to show their support to Buglife in order to restrict the disappearance of pollinators.

Available in limited edition, the t-shirt is sold for CAN $ 52.50 and cannot be exchanged or returned. J. Crew will give back 50 percent of the funds raised with this garment to Buglife in order to help the bees.

The use of pesticides, especially neonicotinoids, cause the disappearance of bees. Other factors, such as habitat loss, the parasite Varroa destructor and monocultures increase the problem. To date, in many parts of the world, more than half of the bees needed to sustain crop yields are lacking.

The environmental initiative of J. Crew will not fully solve the problem. But it is nevertheless noteworthy. You too can help the cause by buying the J. Crew for Buglife Save the Bees T-shirt.

Conscientiser les gens à l’importance des abeilles pour l’écosystème et freiner la menace que fait peser sur l’agriculture leur disparition. Voilà les objectifs visés par J. Crew qui a créé un t-shirt dessiné à la main afin d’appuyer Buglife à restreindre la disparition des pollinisateurs.

Offert en édition limitée, le t-shirt est vendu à 52.50 $ CAN et ne peut être échangé ou retourné. J. Crew remettra 50 % des fonds amassés à Buglife afin d’aider les abeilles.

Rappelons que l’usage de pesticides, plus particulièrement des néonicotinoïdes, cause la disparition des abeilles. D’autres facteurs, tels que la perte d’habitat, le parasite Varroa destructor et les monocultures, aggravent la situation. À ce jour, il manque dans plusieurs régions du globe plus de la moitié des abeilles nécessaires au maintien des rendements agricoles.

L’initiative environnementale de J. Crew ne règlera pas entièrement le problème. Elle mérite néanmoins d’être soulignée. Vous pouvez vous aussi contribuer à sauver les abeilles en achetant le J. Crew for Buglife Save the Bees T-shirt.
