Fields of lies by Sabina Gabrielli Carrara – Not just a web of lies, but many fields! Do you know how many webs are in a single field? Think of the lies you’re about to read! A page turner guaranteed.
The combination of murder-mystery and romance kept me wanting to read more about Shane and Bernadette, and all the secrets they keep to themselves just to get by. Will they end up together? Who killed Michael? A tale of an unraveling marriage, a past love, secrets, lies, and dreadful consequences. It is hard to believe that Fields of lies is the author’s first novel. I like this book and I cannot lie… #bestseller #tobecome #Fingerscrossed
From her blog Truly Madly Ordinary to her Instagram, Sabina Gabrielli Carrara has charmed thousands of people around the world with her writing skills, humor and energetic personality -me included.
I spoke with the Ireland-based Italian author about writing, fashion and style. Here are her honest answers to my questions.
I fell in love with books after…
I read The Canterville Ghost and Little Women, but coming from two parents as voracious readers, books have always been part of the family life.
The writing bug hit when…
I was 7, my parents had just split up and my mum was in bed sick. It was around Christmas and I wrote my first short novel “ Waiting For Christmas ”. I typed it with an old typing machine and made the cover with stickers. My mum still has it and keeps it as the most precious of the memories.
The best thing about being a writer is….
Apart the fact I am not sure I would call myself a writer, the best thing of being one is surely being able to unleash your imagination, live through your characters and work at your own pace.
When I am not writing, I like to…
Read, obviously, go to movie and do my yoga that keeps me sane for so many years. I also like to play cards in my spare time with my daughters.
Lying is something that I find…
Difficult as it then I have to remember what I lied about and my tongue is often far faster than my brain. I know there are the so called “ white lies ”, but still in the end I prefer the ugly truth —it’s simpler.
I have rituals before starting to work such as…
Make a cup of tea or coffee to bring to my desk.
The inspiration behind Fields of lies came from…
Everyday life!
When I write I wear…
I recently discovered that writing in my pjs like many do, it doesn’t really work for me. I need to be fully dressed. I like to be aesthetically in order and it gives some orders to my thoughts too.
Ireland’s pubs are to me…
This is interesting. Being a person with a very sweet tooth I might prefer coffee shops but I love the cozy atmosphere of good old fashion pub where people of every age meet and relax. I still remember our first local pub, just after we moved to Dublin, with its tartan carpet, leather armchairs and soft lights.
My personal favorite designers are…
Tom Ford, Ferragamo, Etro
You’ll never see me wearing…
Crop tops as they won’t go well with my forties belly, and 12” heels —being already nearly 5 foot 8, I would look like a camel struggling to balance.
My favorites accessories are…
Pearl on top of everything and necklaces, shoes, bags, earring, bangles…..yes, I love my accessories!
My style icon is…
Isabela Rossellini, then, now and forever.
In Black Souls, my second murder-mystery, detective McCabe is…
He is not. Readers will be introduced to a duo liner detective, Enda McCarthey, and a fiery Italian inspector, Furio Zamparelli.
Black Souls will be available on the…
We don’t have a precise release date yet but not later then mid/end November.
